A branch manager of Punjab National Bank in Chhitoni, Kushinagar, India, was caught red-handed taking a bribe on Saturday, September 16, 2023. The CBI, India’s premier investigating agency, arrested the manager, identified as Sourabh Raghuvanshi, after a sting operation.

According to the CBI, Raghuvanshi was demanding a bribe of ₹30,000 from a customer in exchange for approving a loan application. The customer, identified as Pradip Kushwaha, had filed a complaint with the CBI after Raghuvanshi refused to approve the loan without the bribe.

On Saturday, Kushwaha went to the bank with ₹27,000 in cash, which was ₹3,000 less than the bribe amount. The CBI team was waiting for him inside the bank and caught Raghuvanshi taking the bribe.
