Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh: Rahul, a 26-year-old Probationary Officer (PO) working at a Gramin Bank, died in a road accident in the Vrindavan area of PGI. His motorcycle was hit by a pickup truck late Monday night. According to police, Rahul was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident.
Pickup Truck Hit Motorcycle
Rahul, a resident of Kharika in Telibagh, was posted at a Gramin Bank in Barabanki. At around 11:30 PM on Monday, he was riding his motorcycle to meet a friend.
When he reached near the CNG pump in Sector-6 of Vrindavan Yojana, a speeding pickup truck hit his motorcycle. Rahul suffered serious injuries in the accident and was taken to the Trauma Center for treatment. However, he died during treatment.
Pickup Driver Taken Into Custody
Police have taken the pickup truck driver into custody. Inspector Sunil Singh said the vehicle has been seized and the driver, Abhishek Prajapati, is being questioned. Abhishek is also a resident of Telibagh.
Family Members Left Behind
Rahul is survived by his mother, Sunita, sister, Geeta, and father, Digambar Singh, who is a retired Army personnel. The police are investigating the circumstances of the accident.
