Three bank employees, seeking to confiscate a mortgaged property due to loan default, were held captive and assaulted by the borrower’s family. An employee’s attempt to film the incident resulted in his phone being snatched. Police intervened and rescued the bank employees.
A case has been registered against four identified and ten unidentified individuals at the Dubagga police station. Ankit Verma, a credit manager for the Bank of India’s Virajkhand branch, filed a complaint at the Dubagga police station. According to the complaint, Ankur Kanojia, a resident of Amrapali Yojna, Sector H, Dubagga, had previously obtained a loan from their branch. Ankur failed to make timely loan repayments.
Despite numerous recovery notices, no response was received. Consequently, the bank requested action from the Additional District Magistrate Administration to seize Ankur’s mortgaged property. The bank received authorization to confiscate the mortgaged asset.
On Friday morning, Ankit Verma, accompanied by bank staff Ankit Singh and Akash Bharti, visited loan defaulter Ankur Kanojia’s residence with the notice. Upon pasting the notice, Ankur’s brother Ashish and other family members reportedly surrounded and verbally abused them.

Collectively, the accused held the bank employees hostage. Ankit managed to inform the police control room. Police responded to the scene and rescued the bank employees.
Based on Ankit Verma’s complaint, a case has been registered against Ankur Kanojia, Ashish Kanojia, Ankit Kanojia, Krishna Kanojia, and ten unidentified individuals at the Dubagga police station.
