Punjab National Bank: In a shocking incident, an officer of a Punjab National Bank Dared branch in Jamnagar, Gujarat, has been booked for allegedly installing a hidden camera in the women’s washroom.
The accused, identified as Akhilesh Saini, is facing charges under IPC section 354C following a complaint filed by a woman employee of the bank.
The bank worker, Akhilesh Saini, was charged by the Panch B division police station following a complaint lodged by a female colleague on August 14.
Saini is facing charges under Section 354C of the Indian Penal Code (IPC), and an ongoing investigation is underway, as reported by The Times Of India.
The complainant informed authorities that upon entering the restroom at the Dared branch of the bank, she discovered a small hole in the wall.
“After a closer look, I found a hidden camera installed inside the bathroom. With the bank manager absent, I informed Saini about the camera’s presence. Saini admitted his mistake and apologized, urging me not to involve the police but to address the matter with higher-ups at the bank,” she stated.
Dissatisfied with Saini’s apology, the complainant sought assistance from two senior employees at another branch, Sanjay Meena and Pradeepkumar Singh. They arrived at the branch, dismantled the camera, and destroyed its memory card.
The distressing incident caused the complainant significant emotional and physical distress.
A senior police official mentioned that Saini is presently out of the state due to bank holidays.
“We anticipate his imminent arrest,” the official added.
