AIBEA Issues Guidelines for September 11 Bank Strike

The All India Bank Employees’ Association (AIBEA) has asked its members to prepare for a full-day bank strike on September 11, 2026. AIBEA has released following guidelines for strike on 11 September.
- The strike notice has been served by UFBU on the Indian Banks’ Association (IBA) and all bank managements.
- Individual unions do not need to serve any separate strike notice.
- The All India Co-operative Bank Employees Federation will participate in the strike.
- The All India Gramin Bank Employees’ Association will also join the strike.
- IBA has called a meeting on September 4, while the Chief Labour Commissioner (CLC) has called a conciliation meeting on September 7. AIBEA said these are routine meetings following the strike notice and there should be no reduction in preparations.
- Members have been asked to observe a badge-wearing programme on September 8, 2026.
- A full-day strike will be observed on September 11, 2026.
- Demonstrations and rallies should be organised on the strike day.
- AIBEA units should take the lead in effectively implementing the strike programmes.
- Representatives of other UFBU constituent organisations should be consulted and programmes should be organised jointly.
- All AIBEA members should be mobilised for the strike programme.
- Strike-related programmes should receive coverage in the local press and media.
- Reports should be sent to AIBEA regarding the observance of the strike.
- Members have been asked to send 2–3 clear photographs of the strike-day demonstrations, preferably showing mass participation, to socialmedia.aibea@gmail.com, along with the name of the place and district.
