RBI Reports $136.38 Billion Forex Inflows Under Special Swap Facility
The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has released data on foreign exchange inflows received through FCNR(B) deposits, External Commercial Borrowings (ECBs) and Overseas Foreign Currency Borrowings (OFCBs) under its special USD-INR Forex Swap facility.
According to the RBI, authorised dealer banks reported total forex inflows of $136.377 billion under the facility up to August 31, 2026.
FCNR(B) Deposits Account for Most Inflows
FCNR(B) deposits accounted for the largest share of the total forex inflows. The inflow through FCNR(B) deposits stood at $127.226 billion as of August 31, 2026.
This was followed by Overseas Foreign Currency Borrowings (OFCBs), which recorded inflows of $5.260 billion. External Commercial Borrowings (ECBs) recorded forex inflows of $3.891 billion. The total inflow through all three sources stood at $136.377 billion.
