
Haryana, Jind: A female bank employee was targeted by a snatcher near Ramlila Ground in Safidon on Monday evening. The accused, riding a bike, grabbed her bag and escaped. The stolen bag contained important bank-related items, including cash, gold, security keys, and the woman’s personal documents and money.
As soon as the incident was reported, City Police Station in-charge Dinesh Kumar arrived at the scene with his team. The police inspected the area, registered a case, and launched a search operation to track down the suspect.
Victim Was Carrying Bank Security Keys
The victim, Amandeep Kaur, a cashier at Axis Bank, lives in Ward No. 3 of Safidon. She has been working at the bank for the last one and a half years and is responsible for handling the bank’s cash and security keys.
She recounted that after finishing her duty at around 6:45 PM, she left the bank on foot for her home. While walking towards Ramlila Ground via Nagkshetra Turn, an unidentified bike rider suddenly attacked from behind, snatching her purse and fleeing towards Rahda Mohalla.
Her bag contained the bank’s security keys, her personal documents, and Rs 700-800 in cash.
Police Reviewing CCTV Footage
Dinesh Kumar, the police in-charge, stated that CCTV footage from the area will be examined to identify the suspect. The police have assured that efforts are being made to catch the accused as soon as possible.
This incident has raised concerns about safety in the area, and locals are urging authorities to increase patrolling to prevent such crimes.
