Armed Robbery in Muzaffarpur: Five Miscreants Loot Rs 1.19 Lakh from Bank in Daylight Heist
In broad daylight, a daring bank robbery took place in Muzaffarpur, where five armed criminals looted Rs 1.19 lakh from a rural bank. The incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon at the North Bihar Gramin Bank in Birhima, located in the Ibrahimpur Panchayat area of Baruraj police station.
According to reports, the five miscreants arrived on two bikes and first conducted a reconnaissance of the bank and its surroundings. After observing the area for a while, they drew out weapons and took control of the bank, holding employees and customers hostage at gunpoint. They demanded money from the cash counter, and when the bank staff hesitated, the criminals threatened to shoot them.
Fearing for their lives, the bank employees complied and provided information about the money available. The robbers also looted cash from several customers and snatched their mobile phones. After completing the robbery, the criminals fled the scene, brandishing their weapons.
The bank employees immediately alerted the Baruraj police, who rushed to the spot. DSP Abhishek Anand confirmed that the criminals had stolen Rs 1.19 lakh, though no one was injured during the incident. He stated that the miscreants had weapons but did not harm anyone.
Baruraj police station officers, led by the station chief, quickly launched an investigation into the matter. Senior officials, including Rural SP Vidya Sagar, were notified, and they assured the public that the criminals would be apprehended soon. The police are reviewing CCTV footage from the bank and nearby areas to track down the robbers.
