On Late Thursday night, criminals uprooted a State Bank of India (SBI) ATM in Chak Sikandar Bazaar, located in the Bidupur police station area of Vaishali district in Bihar, and took it away.
Upon receiving information about the incident, a team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) along with the local police arrived at the scene. The team collected fingerprints and other crucial evidence from the scene. Police are also examining footage from CCTV cameras installed along the route from Chak Sikandar to Boria and cameras installed inside the ATM to identify the accused.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that the miscreants cut open the back of the ATM machine and also targeted the ATM chest box. It is currently unclear how much cash was in the machine at the time of the incident.
Upon receiving information about the incident, bank officials arrived at the scene. Police stated that upon receiving a written application from the bank, an FIR will be registered and further legal action will be taken.
However, thanks to swift action by the Sarai police station, the ATM machine was recovered within hours near Boria village, also in the Sarai police station area.
Sarai Police Station Chief Sanjeev Kumar stated that the back of the ATM has been recovered and a thorough investigation is underway. Police are continuously conducting raids on possible hideouts.
The cases of ATM Robbery are increasing day by day. On 11 July, Robbers uprooted an entire ATM in Odisha’s Balasore district and fled with the machine. On Saturday morning, robbers arrived in a Mahindra Thar SUV, tied the ATM to the SUV, and dragged the atm. The incident took place at around 2 am in the Tudigadia Bazaar area.
More than five men are expected to be involved in this robbery. They took the ATM to a secluded location, where they broke it open and escaped with the cash. They later abandoned the damaged machine by the roadside before fleeing. Click here to read this news.
