What is SHG?

A Self Help Group (SHG) is a small voluntary group of people, usually 10 to 20 members, who come together to save money regularly and support each other financially and socially.

Most Self Help Groups are formed by women in villages and urban areas to improve income and living standards. Members contribute small savings every month, and the collected money is used to give loans to members for needs such as starting a business, farming, education, medical treatment, or household expenses.

Bank Loan to SHG

Banks give loan to SHG for Business activities, agriculture, animal husbandry, small trade, household needs, and other productive purposes. Generally, Banks provide collateral free loan to SHGs – means the loan is provided without any security upto a certain limit.
