A tragic murder case has come to light from Bijnor, Uttar Pradesh, which is very similar to the Saurabh Rajput murder in Meerut. In this new case, a railway technician named Deepak Kumar, 29 years old, was allegedly killed by his wife, Shivani, in the Najibabad area.

What Happened?

On April 4, Deepak suddenly fell unconscious during a religious prayer (puja) at his home. Shivani told the family that Deepak had suffered a heart attack.

However, since Deepak was a government employee, his family insisted on a post-mortem before doing the last rites. The post-mortem report came out on April 6 and revealed a shocking truth — Deepak had not died of a heart attack, he was strangled to death.

Family’s Reaction

After seeing the report, Deepak’s family filed a murder complaint against Shivani and an unknown person. The police have now arrested Shivani. Initial investigation suggests that Shivani might have killed Deepak to take his government job.

On the day of the incident, Shivani called Deepak’s brother Piyush and said Deepak had a heart attack and they were taking him to the hospital. But when Piyush reached, Deepak was already dead. Shivani also refused to allow a post-mortem, which made Piyush suspicious. He then informed the police.

Family Allegations

Deepak’s brother said that Shivani and one of her friends killed Deepak. He also said that the couple had a love marriage just one and a half years ago.

Deepak’s mother Pushpa said Shivani used to fight with the family and even hit her mother-in-law. She believes that Shivani murdered Deepak with someone’s help to get his job.

Deepak’s uncle Vishal said, “My nephew was killed brutally. Shivani may be accepting the blame, but she didn’t do this alone. We don’t know if she did it for money or for his job, but she must be punished.”

How the Murder Was Done

During police interrogation, Shivani admitted that she first gave sleeping pills to Deepak, which made him unconscious. After that, she strangled him.

After committing the murder, she went to the rooftop for some time, and later took Deepak to the hospital, pretending it was a heart attack. Doctors at the hospital declared him dead.

Police Investigation

ASP City Sanjeev Vajpayee confirmed that Shivani is being questioned. Police also believe that someone else helped her in the murder.

About Deepak

Deepak was from Mukrandpur village in Bijnor, but was living in Adarsh Nagar, Najibabad, in a rented house. He had married Shivani from Chauharpur Nahtaur on June 17, in a love marriage. They have a six-month-old son.

He joined the Indian Railways in March 2023. Before that, he worked in the CRPF in Manipur. He left his paramilitary job to live a peaceful life with his family — but sadly, he was murdered within a year of starting this new life, leaving behind a grieving family and a small child.
