On Thursday, the state-owned Bank of Maharashtra took a significant step by opening a new branch right inside the premises of the Supreme Court of India. This branch is designed to cater to the financial needs of the court as well as its staff and visitors. The inauguration ceremony was a notable event, with Chief Justice of India D Y Chandrachud doing the honors, accompanied by other esteemed judges of the Supreme Court.
A Collaborative Effort
The opening of this branch was also attended by Financial Services Secretary M Nagaraju, who expressed his satisfaction with the bank’s initiative. His presence underscored the importance of the collaboration between the judiciary and financial institutions, highlighting how such partnerships can lead to enhanced services and convenience.
Advanced Technology for Convenience
During the event, Nidhu Saxena, the Managing Director and CEO of Bank of Maharashtra, shared some of the key features of this new branch. One of the most exciting aspects is the incorporation of internet-enabled interactive devices and multi-function kiosks. These advanced tools allow customers to carry out a variety of banking transactions on their own, without needing assistance from bank staff. The best part? These services are available 24/7, making banking more accessible and convenient.
Modern Locker Facilities
In addition to the usual services, the new branch offers an innovative twist on traditional banking. While customers can still access conventional lockers during business hours, the branch is introducing new locker facilities that can be used anytime, just like an ATM. This means that customers can now access their valuables whenever they need to, without being restricted by the bank’s operating hours.
Tech-Enabled Solutions for the Court
The bank is also providing a tech-enabled solution specifically designed for the Supreme Court. This solution eliminates the need for manual fixed deposit receipts, streamlining the process and reducing paperwork. Moreover, the system includes a comprehensive dashboard for the court’s registry, enabling efficient management and quick access to regular MIS (Management Information System) reports with just a click.
This new branch of the Bank of Maharashtra in the Supreme Court is a step towards modernizing banking services while ensuring that the specific needs of the court and its people are met efficiently. It is an example of how technology and thoughtful planning can create a seamless banking experience for all.
