UCO Bank Donates Rs 7.06 Lakh for Public Washrooms at Nauni University

The Nauni branch of UCO Bank has pledged support for building public washrooms at Dr YS Parmar University of Horticulture and Forestry as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative.

The new washrooms will be constructed near the university’s shopping complex, an area frequently used by students and visitors. The bank has donated Rs 7.06 lakh for the project, ensuring better hygiene and sanitation facilities on the campus.

Cheque Handed Over to Vice-Chancellor

A formal cheque handover ceremony took place at the university campus. The cheque was presented to Vice-Chancellor Prof Rajeshwar Singh Chandel in the presence of senior bank officials, including:

  • Joydeep Chatterjee, Deputy General Manager (DGM), IT Head Office, Kolkata
  • Pradeep Anand Kesari, Zonal Head, Shimla
  • Sandeep Sehroy, Senior Manager, Nauni
  • Navjeet Singh Negi, Assistant Branch Head, Nauni

Facilities and Construction Plan

The proposed washroom complex will include separate facilities for men and women, along with accessibility features for persons with disabilities. The university’s estate department has already completed the washroom designs, and construction is set to begin soon.

Acknowledgment and CSR Commitment

Vice-Chancellor Prof Chandel thanked UCO Bank for its support and quick response in addressing the need for public washrooms. Joydeep Chatterjee highlighted the bank’s commitment to social welfare through CSR initiatives and assured continued efforts in community development.

The ceremony was attended by statutory officers of the university, who appreciated the bank’s contribution towards improving campus infrastructure.
