The State Bank of India (SBI) has released notification for recruitment of candidates to the post of Law Manager. All details such as eligibility, age limit, educational qualifications, etc. are given below.

1. Post: Assistant Manager (Law)

(A) Age (As on 31.05.2026): Minimum: 25 Years, Maximum- 32 years

(B) Basic Educational Qualification:

  • Mandatory: Graduate with a degree in Law or a Law Graduate from a recognized university in India.
  • Preferred: 5-year integrated law course from a recognized university in India may be given preference.

(C) Experience (Mandatory as on 31.05.2026):

Law graduates who have enrolled as Advocates with Bar Council and have 02 years of experience as practicing advocate. Or 02 Years of experience as Law Officer in the Legal Department of Scheduled Commercial Banks. Or 02 years of combined experience as practicing advocate and Law officer in the Legal department of Scheduled Commercial banks. (The experience should be after enrolment as advocate with Bar Council.)

2. Post: Deputy Manager (Law)

(A) Age (As on 31.05.2026): Minimum: 25 Years, Maximum- 35 Years

(B) Basic Educational Qualification:

  • Mandatory: Graduate with a degree in Law or a Law Graduate from a recognized university in India.
  • Preferred: 5-year integrated law course from a recognized university in India may be given preference.

Law graduates who have enrolled as Advocates with Bar Council and have 04 years of experience as practicing advocate. Or 04 years of combined experience as practicing advocate and Law officer in the Legal department of Scheduled Commercial banks. (The experience should be after enrolment as an advocate with the Bar Council.)

SBI Law Manager Vacancies as per Notification 2026

There are a total of 49 vacancies for this recruitment. 20 vacancies are for Assistant Manager (Law), and 29 vacancies, including 2 backlog vacancies, are for Deputy Manager (Law).

SBI Law Manager Age Limit 2026

For Assistant Manager (Law), age limit is 25-32 years and for Deputy Manager (Law), age limit is 25-35 years. Candidates must fulfill age limit as on 31.05.2026.

SBI Law Manager Selection Process

Selection Process

The selection will be on the basis of Online Written Test and Interview. The online written test will be conducted tentatively in the month of August 2026.

Note:

  • Qualifying in nature and marks scored will not be reckoned for arriving at the Merit.
  • Except Professional Knowledge (PK) paper, other papers will be qualifying in nature.
  • Candidates must score minimum qualifying marks in these papers. The minimum qualifying marks will be decided by the Bank.
  • There will be no negative marks for wrong answers in the Online Written Examination.

Notes:

  1. Candidates will need to answer any 05 questions out of 08 questions.
  2. Minimum qualifying marks in the Descriptive Test will be decided by the Bank.

Important Points

  • Candidates need to qualify in both the Objective Test and Descriptive Test individually. Merit list for the Online Written Test will be prepared based on the total score in the Objective Test and Descriptive Test put together.
  • To be eligible for being shortlisted for the Interview, candidates have to score equal to or above the cut-off marks as decided by the Bank, besides scoring minimum qualifying marks in other papers.
  • Selection in Online Written Examination will be made from the top-ranked candidates in descending order of Merit, in each category. In case more than one candidate scores the cut-off marks (common marks at cut-off point), such candidate will be ranked according to their age in descending order in the Merit list.
  • Interview: Category-wise adequate number of candidates as decided by the Bank will be called for Interview based on their performance in the Online Written Test. Interview will carry 100 marks. The qualifying marks in the Interview will be as decided by the Bank.

Application Fees

Application fees and Intimation Charges (Non-refundable) is Rs.750/- (Rupees Seven Hundred Fifty only) for General/EWS/OBC candidates and no fees/intimation charges for SC/ ST/ PwBD candidates.
