SBI Life becomes official partner of BCCI and will pay Rs.85 lakhs per match

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has signed a three-year deal with SBI Life Insurance to be its official partner for domestic and international matches. Under the deal, SBI Life will pay Rs 85 lakh (US$1.2 million) per match to the BCCI.

In addition, the BCCI’s title partner is IDFC First Bank. IDFC First Bank pays the BCCI Rs 4.2 crores (US$5.7 million) per match.

BCCI secretary Jay Shah said: “We are delighted to announce SBI Life as our official partner for the next three years. SBI Life will be our official partner for both international and domestic matches.”

BCCI president Roger Binny added: “It is a great feeling to be the official partner of SBI. We are excited to announce this partnership.”

SBI Life is one of India’s largest insurance companies. The deal will cover 56 matches over three years, including all of India’s home internationals and the upcoming ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in 2023.

  • The deal began with the first ODI match between India and Australia on September 22, 2023.
  • SBI Life’s initial bid was Rs 75 lakh per match, but the BCCI was able to negotiate a higher price.
  • SBI Life will also be the official partner of the BCCI for ICC tournaments.
