UFBU Announces Strike against new PLI Scheme

Connect with Us

The United Forum of Bank Unions (UFBU) has announced strike against the new PLI scheme. The Punjab & Sind Bank has credited PLI to senior executives – Scale IV and above and the entire banking industry is protesting against this. Scale IV and above will get PLI upto Rs.20 lakh whereas Scale 1 to 3 will get PLI upto Rs.50,000 only. Bankers call this discriminatory as the maximum work in Banks is done by Scale 1 to 3 officers whereas Scale 4 and above officers are posted mainly in controlling offices.

UFBU has announced All India Strike on 11th September 2026, All India Strike on 28th, 29th & 30th September 2026 and Indefinite Strike from 26th October 2026.

UFBU said the Government is taking a negative attitude on our important demands and issues. The cost of PLI for Scale IV officers and above would be very huge and disproportionately much higher than what all other employees and officers will get. When everyone will get a maximum PLI of 15 days, they will get more than 20 times of it. This will badly divide the officers.
