Why Flash Strike not conducted by UFBU?
On 20 March 2026, UFBU had announced flash strike against new PLI scheme. UFBU had asked Bank employees to be ready for a strike within 24 hours if the situation escalated.
UFBU had appealed to all employees and officers to understand the seriousness of the issue, remain united, and make the protest programme successful at all levels.
The unions had also asked members to stay prepared for a strike call at very short notice. The letter from UFBU is as below:

Now, the Banks have credited PLI to senior executives and UFBU has also announced strike. But UFBU has announced All India Strike on 11th September 2026, All India Strike on 28th, 29th & 30th September 2026 and Indefinite Strike from 26th October 2026.
UFBU has not announced flash strike as promised in its earlier letter dated 20 March 2026. UFBU has announced strike after 20 days. The PLI was credited on 21 August 2026 and a one day strike has been announced on 11 September 2026.
Other unions such as NOBO and NOBW have also criticised UFBU for not conducting flash strikes and swaying away from their promise. NOBO and NOBW released a letter criticizing UFBU and this letter has added ghee to the fire. Bankers are asking why UFBU did not conduct Flash Strikes as promised earlier.

Till now, UFBU has not replied to the questions asked by NOBO, NOBW and Bank employees.
