The Noida police have taken decisive action by sealing properties valued at over ₹200 crore associated with the scrap metal mafia led by gangster Ravi Kana and his criminal syndicate, which operates in the Delhi-NCR region.

In an intensified effort to dismantle the scrap mafia network, Noida police conducted raids and sealed a lavish South Delhi bungalow estimated at ₹100 crore, which had been gifted by Kana to his girlfriend, Kajal Jha.

Initially seeking employment, Kajal Jha eventually became a pivotal member of Kana’s gang, overseeing the management of accounts for all his undisclosed properties. The three-story bungalow, situated in the affluent New Friends Colony of South Delhi, was sealed by the police after the occupants, including Jha and her associates, fled to avoid arrest prior to the raid.

Ravindra Nagar, alias Ravi Kana, leads a 16-member gang involved in the illicit procurement and sale of rebar and scrap materials. Initially a scrap dealer, Kana reportedly amassed significant wealth by establishing a gang engaged in the unlawful acquisition and sale of scrap material, often through extortion from businesses in the Delhi-NCR region.

Ravi Kana, who inherited the leadership from his deceased brother, Harendra Pradhan, also a notorious gangster in Greater Noida, has faced numerous legal challenges, with 11 cases registered against him and his associates, including charges of kidnapping and theft. Despite the ongoing crackdown, Kana, along with his girlfriend and other gang members, remains at large.

The police have arrested six members of the gang, and multiple scrap yards operated by the syndicate across Greater Noida and Noida have been raided and sealed. Ravi Kana, who had received police protection due to death threats, is now on the run, as captured in a viral video where he is seen entering a wedding event surrounded by several policemen.
