Gold Loan Bank Manager Missing with Gold Worth Rs 1.5 Crore, Police Starts Investigation
Rohtak, Haryana: The manager of a private gold loan bank in the city has gone missing under suspicious circumstances, allegedly taking gold worth over ₹1.5 crore. This incident has left customers angry and concerned. They gathered at the bank to express their displeasure, prompting the police to launch an investigation.
According to police reports, the incident occurred at a private bank branch located at Bhiwani Chungi. The bank provides loans against gold as collateral. The manager reportedly left the bank with 14 packets of gold on December 11 at 10 a.m. and another 11 packets on December 12 at the same time.
Suspicion Raised by Employees:
The disappearance came to light when employees noticed something unusual and alerted senior officials. Upon reviewing the CCTV footage, the manager was seen taking the gold packets while other employees were present in the bank. However, no one suspected his actions at the time.
The gold, deposited by 26 customers, was sealed in separate packets. Regular audits are conducted to ensure security. Rajiv Arya, a customer, filed a formal complaint at Kalanaur police station on Sunday evening, claiming the manager had absconded with gold worth approximately ₹1.6 crore.
Police Investigation Underway:
The Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) has assured customers that the case will be resolved quickly. The police have retrieved all CCTV footage and are interrogating bank employees as part of the investigation.
An official statement confirmed that a case will be registered soon, and efforts are underway to locate and arrest the accused manager. The incident has caused panic among customers, who are demanding swift action to recover their gold.
