According to the initial investigation, some unidentified persons allegedly tried to enter the bank by making a hole through the roof slab of a room located above the bank branch. The suspected break-in attempt was discovered during a routine inspection of the premises.

Dakshina Kannada Superintendent of Police Dr. Arun Kumar, Bantwal Town Police Inspector Anantha Padmanabha, Bantwal Rural Police Sub-Inspector Manjunath, along with other police personnel, visited the bank and inspected the scene.
