A team of revenue officials, accompanied by a female sub-inspector and constables, was attacked by women in Sarosa village in Lucknow on Wednesday. The women, who were led by Chandrakiran Gupta, the wife of the property owner, confronted the team and clashed with them. The scuffle led to injuries to three female constables.
The incident took place when the team was executing a court order to take possession of the property. The property belonged to Ravi Gupta, who had guaranteed a loan of 35 lakhs taken by his friend Arun. The bank had sent several notices to Arun for non-payment of the loan, but he had failed to repay it. As a result, the bank had initiated the recovery process and obtained a court order to take possession of the property.
On Wednesday, the revenue team, along with SDM Meenakshi Dwivedi, bank officials, and an advocate, arrived at Ravi Gupta’s house to execute the possession order. As soon as the process began, Chandrakiran Gupta and the two other women present with her, started arguing with the team. The female constables tried to restrain the women, but they were attacked.
Inspector Shrikant Rai, SHO of Para police station, said that a case has been filed against Chandrakiran Gupta and her associates based on the report of Revenue Officer Vijay Pratap. He said that strict action will be taken against the accused.
