The UPI Circle feature will soon be available on all UPI apps. But Google Pay has taken the lead and announced at Global Fintech Fest (GFF) 2024 that UPI Circle will soon be available on Google Pay app.

How UPI Circle will benefit?
- For Users Without a Bank Account: People who don’t have a bank account can use this feature for payments.
- For Those Who Find In-Person Payments Inconvenient: This feature will be beneficial for those people who can’t be physically present for payments. Some other person can conducts transactions from his/her bank account via UPI Circle feature.
How UPI Circle Works?
The main person having bank account is called Primary User and the second person is called Secondary User. With UPI Circle, you’ll have two options for delegating payments:
1. Full Delegation:
In this method, you can set a monthly spending limit of up to ₹15,000 INR. You can allow secondary users to make payments within this limit without needing additional approval.
2. Partial Delegation:
In this method, you will have full control over transactions. You will have to approve each payment request by secondary users.

How to Add a Secondary User in UPI Circle?
To add a secondary user, the following requirements must be met:
- Primary users should have an active bank account or other payment method on Google Pay.
- Secondary user’s mobile number should be saved in the primary user’s contact list.
- Secondary users should have a valid UPI ID.

How to Track active UPI Circle requests?
From the homepage, the primary user can track the status to add a secondary user with a tap on the chat head of the secondary user. The status appears as below:
Both primary user and secondary user can find their active requests status in the UPI Circle section, accessible from their profile page.
How to Check the list of active primary users or secondary users?
On the profile page, tap UPI Circle.
