UP Clerk suspended for assigning Duty to Dead Employee during Governor’s Visit

A clerk in the State Medical Department has been suspended for allegedly assigning duties to a deceased employee during the visit of Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel to Ballia, officials reported on December 24.

On December 23, Chief Medical Officer Dr. Vijaypati Dwivedi announced the suspension of the clerk, Brijesh Kumar, who was working at the Chief Medical Officer’s office in Ballia. Kumar has been attached to the office of the additional director in Azamgarh.

Dr. Dwivedi highlighted that Kumar committed a serious lapse by assigning duty to a deceased staff member during the Governor’s visit to Ballia. Additionally, the clerk neglected to designate someone to test the food intended for the event.

Disciplinary action has been initiated against Mr. Kumar, and Chief Medical Officer Dr. Dwivedi emphasized the gravity of the situation.

The incident occurred during Ms. Anandiben Patel’s visit to Ballia on November 26, where she attended the fifth convocation ceremony of Jananayak Chandrashekhar University.
