The entire incident was captured by the bank’s CCTV footage, which has been seized by the police for further investigation. A suicide note was also found at the scene. However, the specific reason behind the officer’s suicide has not yet been disclosed.

According to the suicide note found at the scene, the officer mentioned that he was experiencing immense pressure due to multiple assignments, such as CMCC, CMRD, RCoC, and others. The heavy workload had taken a toll on him, and despite his repeated requests for assistance, the management did not address his plea. This lack of support ultimately led to his decision to take his own life.

The deceased officer, Siaram Prasad, hailed from Uttar Pradesh and resided on Jhanjharda Road in Junagadh. He was responsible for loan disbursal at the bank. Prasad had been avoiding contact with his family and instead, his wife had been communicating with him through his colleagues. On the day of the incident, Prasad left home at night and did not return. Concerned, his family and colleagues searched for him and tragically found him hanging from a railing near the bank.

The entire incident was captured by the CCTV cameras installed in the bank premises. The footage revealed the moment of Prasad’s suicide. The police have also seized a suicide note, which may provide further insight into the motive behind the tragic act. Currently, the investigation is ongoing, with the police examining the deceased’s body for additional clues.

This incident has caused immense grief for the families involved and highlights the importance of mental health awareness and support within the banking community.

  4. Such cases are raising at an alarming level. Banks and MOF needs to address this by filling vacancies and controlling working hours and declaring long awaited 2 days weekend. Transfer and posting policy needs to be relaxed to accommodate officers near to their home

  5. “Injury is Universal, but, Suffering is once own Choice” – Budhism. We work for our living, never to quit ones precious life. There are transformative trainings, learn to withstand insurmountable pressures. Still if unable to adjust in dynamic demanding environments, only quitting job should be a last resort, but never one’s life, dropping family into deep grief & guilty of not rescuing the beloved departed one. Should have open communications with Gen X in the organisation as to how to address varied critical circumstances. This suicide should be last in the banking industry, taking a pledge in Federation Meetings.

  6. In todays scenario psu banks are giving multiple tasks with the multiple targets on daily basis, this gives the immense pressure, destroys the mental health of the employee, forcing them to take such decisions….
