The detention has sparked outrage within the UCO Bank Officers Association, Rajasthan Unit, which strongly opposes the action. The association claims that the arrest was made without a warrant or any prior notification to the bank’s zonal office. They further criticized the lack of protective measures in place for bank officers, highlighting that while management pressures officers to open accounts, their safety in such situations is not being prioritized.

In a statement, the association said, “This is unjustified. No serious action has been taken by the management to address the issue, and the matter has escalated to the point of our colleague’s arrest. We will not tolerate this kind of harassment, and we demand that management take immediate action to secure his release.”

The association has called for urgent intervention from the bank’s management, stating that the entire officers’ community is distressed by the incident and will not work under such pressures. As the situation unfolds, there are concerns over how this will impact morale among bank employees, especially in light of increasing fraud investigations.

No official response has been provided by UCO Bank management on the matter so far.
