The Delhi High Court has declared September 11 and 12, 2026, as holidays for the Delhi High Court and all courts under its jurisdiction. The decision has been taken because the BRICS Summit is scheduled to be held in Delhi from September 11 to 13, 2026.
According to the notification issued on September 8, 2026, Friday, September 11 and Saturday, September 12 will be holidays. To make up for these holidays, October 3, 2026 (Saturday) will be a working day for the Delhi High Court, while October 10, 2026 (Saturday) will be a working day for subordinate courts.
The notification also states that November 14, 2026 (Saturday) will be a working day for all subordinate courts.
Cases that were scheduled for September 11 and 12, 2026 will now be heard on September 14, 2026 (Monday), along with the cases already listed for that day.
Central Government Offices will also remain closed in Delhi on 11 September due to BRICS Summit. Central Government offices located in Delhi and New Delhi will remain closed on Friday, September 11, 2026, on the occasion of the 18th BRICS Leaders’ Summit being held in the national capital.
