Shri Brajesh Kumar Singh appointed as MD&CEO of Canara Bank
Shri Brajesh Kumar Singh, who is currently serving as Executive Director of Indian Bank, has been appointed as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer (MD & CEO) of Canara Bank. The appointment has been approved by the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC). He will take charge of the post from the date he assumes office and will continue in the role until his retirement on 30 April 2029 or until further orders from the government, whichever comes earlier.


Profile of Shri Brajesh Kumar Singh
Shri Brajesh Kumar Singh is an Agriculture graduate from Allahabad Agriculture Institute and holds an MBA in Finance. He is also a Certified Associate of the Indian Institute of Bankers.
He has rich banking experience of more than 28 years. Prior to joining as Executive Director of Indian Bank, he was serving as Chief General Manager (HR) of Bank of Baroda. He has also completed the Executive Leadership Development Programme at IIM Bangalore.
Shri Brajesh Kumar Singh has worked in various strategic positions such as Credit Officer, Branch Head, Loan Factory Head, Regional Head and Zonal Head. He also served as Convenor of the State Level Bankers Committee. His international exposure includes an overseas posting at Durban, South Africa. At the corporate office, he has led the Retail Assets and Human Resource Management departments with his extensive expertise.
He has also served as Director on the Board of Bank of Baroda UP Gramin Bank.
