Shri Sanjay Lohiya has been appointed as the new Secretary of the Department of Financial Services (DFS) following the retirement of Shri M. Nagaraju on superannuation.
He is an IAS of 1994 batch and assumed charge as Secretary, Department of Financial Services (DFS), Ministry of Finance, on 01.06.2026. Prior to this appointment, Shri Sanjay Lohiya was serving as Special Secretary, DFS.
Profile of Shri Sanjay Lohia
Shri Sanjay Lohiya is an IAS Officer of 1994 batch (Assam Meghalaya cadre). He was serving as Special Secretary, Department of Financial Services, and Ministry of Finance.
Prior to taking over as Special Secretary, he was Additional Secretary in Ministry of Mines.
He joined Indian Administrative Service (IAS) after graduating from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi University. Before joining as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Mines, he held various positions which includes Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Government of Assam, Joint Secretary in Ministry of Agriculture, Director in PMO, etc.
Shri Lohiya was also assigned with duties for the post of Chairman-cum-Managing Director, NALCO from 02.11.2024 to 08.01.2025.
