Kotak Mahindra Bank Limited today announced that the Reserve Bank of India has approved the appointment of Anup Kumar Saha as the Bank’s Managing Director & Chief Executive Officer (“MD & CEO”) for a period of three years, effective January 1, 2027.
Mr. Anup Kumar Saha – Professional Profile
Mr. Anup Kumar Saha is currently the Whole-time Director (Executive Director) of the Bank. He has more than 32 years of professional experience, including around 25 years in the financial services sector, covering both banking and non-banking financial institutions.
Mr. Saha joined the Bank in January 2026 and became Whole-time Director (Executive Director) in March 2026. In his current role, he looks after the Bank’s Retail Banking, Government Business, Data Analytics and Marketing functions.
Before joining the Bank, Mr. Saha worked with Bajaj Finance Limited (BFL) from October 2017 to January 2026. During his time at BFL, he held several senior positions, including President – Consumer Finance, Deputy CEO, Executive Director, Deputy Managing Director, and Managing Director & CEO. He served as Managing Director & CEO from April 2025 until his resignation in July 2025. As Executive Director, he was responsible for the overall standalone business of BFL.
Before Bajaj Finance, Mr. Saha worked with ICICI Bank Limited for 14 years, from May 2003 to June 2017. He held several senior positions and handled areas such as Retail Secured Assets, Business Intelligence, Retail and Rural Collections, Credit Cards and Retail Structured Finance. He also served as a Nominee Director of ICICI Bank on the boards of TransUnion CIBIL Limited and ICICI Home Finance Limited.
Earlier in his career, Mr. Saha worked with GE Capital from 1999 to 2003, where he handled credit cards, sales and analytics. He also worked with Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) from 1991 to 1995 in production engineering. Before that, he had a brief experience in consumer durable sales.
Mr. Saha holds a B.Tech degree in Engineering from IIT Kharagpur and an MBA from IIM Lucknow.
