RBI New Scheme: Write Hindi Books on Economics, Banking, Finance and Get Rs 1.25 Lac Award

RBI New Scheme: The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has launched a scheme to promote original writings in Hindi on topics related to Economics, Banking, and Finance. This initiative is designed to encourage academic and research contributions in Hindi and recognizes outstanding authors with cash awards.

Key Highlights of the Scheme:

  1. Eligibility:
    • Open to working or retired Professors, including Assistant and Associate Professors, of UGC-recognized Indian universities.
    • Applicants must have authored at least one original Hindi book of a minimum of 200 pages on Economics, Banking, or Finance.
    • Books published between April 1, 2023, and March 31, 2024, are eligible.
    • Authors awarded for two consecutive years will have a one-year cooling period and can reapply in the fourth year.
  2. Awards:
    • A maximum of three prizes will be awarded.
    • Each winner will receive ₹1,25,000 (Rupees One Lakh Twenty-Five Thousand).
  3. Evaluation Criteria:
    • An Evaluation Committee comprising two Professors of Economics/Banking/Finance and one Professor of Hindi Literature/Linguistics will assess submissions.
    • The content will carry a 60% weightage, and language/style will account for 40%.
  4. Submission Guidelines:
    • Eligible participants must submit nominations in the prescribed format, along with five copies of the book, to the Chief General Manager, Rajbhasha Vibhag, Reserve Bank of India, Central Office, C-9, 8th Floor, Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai – 400 051.
    • The deadline for submissions is 5:00 PM on December 16, 2024.
    • Late or incomplete applications will not be entertained.
  5. Selection and Announcement:
    • Books will be evaluated based on content and language by the Evaluation Committee.
    • Results will be published on the RBI website (www.rbi.org.in), and winners will be notified individually.
    • Awardees will be felicitated at RBI’s Annual Rajbhasha Prize Distribution Function.

Important Notes:

  • The decision of the Evaluation Committee is final, and no direct correspondence regarding the outcome will be entertained.
