The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has been organizing Financial Literacy Week (FLW) annually since 2016 to promote financial awareness. The tenth edition, FLW 2025, was launched by Governor Shri Sanjay Malhotra, with this year’s theme being “Financial Literacy: Women’s Prosperity” (वित्तीय समझदारी – समृद्ध नारी).
FLW 2025 will be observed from February 24 to 28, 2025. The launch event was attended by senior officials from the RBI, NABARD, and key representatives of commercial banks.
In his address, Governor Malhotra emphasized the importance of empowering women to enhance their role in fostering inclusive and sustainable economic growth. He encouraged banks to leverage all available channels to promote financial literacy, particularly among women.
As part of FLW 2025, the RBI will conduct multimedia campaigns to spread awareness on the theme. Banks have also been advised to actively share information and educate their customers on financial literacy initiatives.
