
In a commendable display of honesty and integrity, the staff of Punjab National Bank (PNB) set a shining example by returning valuable gold jewellery that a customer had mistakenly left behind in the bank’s locker room. The incident, which took place at PNB Rajpura Main branch, highlights the bank’s strong ethical values and the dedication of its employees toward customer service.
A PNB customer visited the branch to access their safe deposit locker. After completing the work, the lady inadvertently left behind a packet containing gold jewellery inside the locker room. Unaware of the loss, the customer exited the bank premises without realizing that she had forgotten their valuables.
Shortly after the customer had left, a vigilant bank staff member conducting a routine check of the locker area noticed the unattended jewellery packet. Instead of ignoring the item or mishandling the situation, the staff immediately reported the discovery to the branch manager.
Recognizing the importance and value of the jewellery, the bank officials secured the packet and launched efforts to track down the rightful owner. After verifying locker access records and contacting the concerned customer, the bank informed them about the misplaced jewellery and asked them to visit the branch to reclaim it.
Upon receiving the call from the bank, the relieved customer rushed back to the branch. After verifying ownership and completing necessary formalities, the gold jewellery was safely handed back to them. Expressing deep gratitude, the customer praised PNB’s staff for their honesty, quick response, and commitment to ethical banking.
“I am truly grateful to the bank staff for their honesty and professionalism. Losing my jewellery would have been devastating, but thanks to PNB’s ethical employees, I got it back without any trouble,” the customer said.
