The Karnataka Vikas Grameena Bank Officers’ Federation (KVGBOF), affiliated with AIRRBOF and AIBOC, has announced a series of protests to address long-standing grievances and demand immediate action from the bank’s management.

In a detailed letter dated January 6, 2025, addressed to the bank’s Chairman, the union outlined critical issues, including non-payment of dues, biased transfer policies, and inefficiencies in human resource management.
Key Demands
The union has emphasized the need to resolve the following concerns:
- Lack of Cooperation and Fairness:
- Alleged favoritism towards specific unions, sidelining KVGBOF’s grievances.
- Non-responsiveness to issues raised by the union.
- Employer Contribution Under NPS:
- Immediate implementation of the 14% employer contribution under the National Pension Scheme (NPS) to align with other banks.
- Pending Officiating Pay:
- Release of dues for officiating pay that have been pending since June 2024.
- 9th Joint Note Implementation:
- Full adherence to the Department of Financial Services (DFS) guidelines, including benefits for women employees.
- Human Resource Management Issues:
- Transfer of the Chief Manager of the Personnel and Human Resource Development Division (PHRDD) for alleged inefficiency and bias.
- Resolution of delays in HRMS subscription processing.
- Restoration of union affiliation details on salary slips and regular updates on membership records.
- Transparent Transfer Policy:
- Reforming the transfer policy to ensure fairness and adherence to established guidelines.
Protest Schedule
The agitation program will unfold in multiple phases:
- January 18, 2025: Members to wear black badges as a symbolic protest.
- January 20, 2025: Exit from WhatsApp groups maintained by the bank.
- January 21, 2025: Strict adherence to the work-to-time rule.
- January 22, 2025: Boycott of cross-selling third-party products, focusing only on core banking activities.
- January 23-24, 2025: A two-day dharna in front of the bank’s Head Office.
The union has warned that if their demands remain unmet, they will escalate the protest to a full-fledged strike as a last resort.
