More than 24 hours have passed but the UFBU Leaders have not yet conducted a single press conference related to withdrawal of Bank strike which was proposed to be conducted from 28 to 30 September 2026.
UFBU had suddenly deferred the strike on the night of Sunday and since then UFBU leaders have not even communicated a single message to bankers.

The last post on X by CH Venkatachalam was at 11.12 pm on 27 September 2026. In this post, he had informed about the deferment of strike. After this post, he also did not upload any update on his social media channels.
Since then the UFBU leaders have not uploaded any post on X or on other social media channels. Bankers are criticizing them for not conducting press conference and not speaking directly with members.
Why UFBU leaders are not interacting with bankers? Why they deferred strike? Why are they not providing reason? asked a banker.
Moreover, UFBU Leaders are also not replying to media queries. Bankers need answer and UFBU Leaders are silent. This silence is creating chaos in the banking industry. UFBU leaders should atleast conduct a press conference and inform all the details to bankers.
When we spoke to other leaders of banking unions, they informed that the decision of strike withdrawal was not communicated to them. They allege that the decision was taken unilaterally by UFBU and several unions have published their letters against the UFBU, demanding accountability and transparency.
Union leaders have also asked UFBU to explain the reason of strike deferment but till now there is no response from UFBU.
