A young man has said that he was brutally attacked by a group of finance department employees from IDFC First Bank in Bhilai over non-payment of a loan installment. The attackers struck him on the head with a stick, causing serious injuries, and then fled the scene. The injured man was later admitted to Lal Bahadur Shastri Hospital in Supela for treatment.

The incident took place in the Faridnagar area under the Supela police station late Monday night. Saif Ali, a resident of Nizami Chowk, Faridnagar, reported that his nephew, Sayyad Farooq, was assaulted by six men associated with the bank’s finance department.
According to Saif Ali, he received information that Farooq was involved in a dispute with bank employees at Nizami Chowk. When he reached the spot, he found that Farooq had been taken to the Supela police station on a bike. The police then advised them to take the injured man to the hospital for treatment
Farooq was rushed to Supela hospital, where doctors found he had sustained a deep head injury and had lost a significant amount of blood. The medical team dressed his wound and gave him three to four stitches before discharging him. After receiving treatment, Farooq went to the Supela police station and filed a complaint against the attackers.
Farooq Ali explained that the attack was linked to an ongoing dispute over a loan he had taken from the bank to finance a television. Due to financial difficulties, he had missed an installment payment. Bank representatives had been visiting his house and calling him repeatedly to recover the due amount.
Initially, an agreement was reached where he was asked to pay ₹9,000 to settle the loan. However, later, the bank staff demanded ₹12,000. A few days after this, they showed up at his house with a letter stating that he needed to pay ₹18,000 to close the account.
On the night of the attack, Farooq had gone to Rizwan’s mobile shop around 8 PM to collect his repaired phone. As he was about to leave, six men from the bank arrived and confronted him. One of them held him, while another struck him on the head with a bamboo stick and a belt buckle, causing a deep wound and heavy bleeding.
Farooq stated that he was in discussions with the bank for a full and final settlement of the loan when the recovery agents resorted to violence. The police are investigating the case, and further action is expected against those involved in the assault.
