The Lokayukta team has caught an ICICI Bank recovery agent red-handed while taking a bribe in Bhopal, the capital of Madhya Pradesh. The incident took place on Tuesday near the tehsil office, where the agent was caught accepting a bribe of ₹8,000.

The recovery agent, identified as Sajid Ahmed, had demanded ₹8,000 from Amar Singh Rajput, a resident of Udaypura tehsil. Amar Singh had taken a personal loan of ₹10 lakh from ICICI Bank. Unfortunately, due to some financial issues, he was unable to pay 11–12 installments of the loan.

As a result, the bank started the loan recovery process and put a hold on his salary account. This hold made it difficult for Amar Singh to access his own money.

The case related to the recovery was being handled at the Tehsildar’s office in Barh Kartar, under Tehsildar Kunal Raut. During this process, recovery agent Sajid Ahmed, who was stationed at the tehsil office, asked Amar Singh to pay a bribe of ₹8,000 in exchange for removing the hold from his account.

Amar Singh filed a complaint at the Bhopal Lokayukta office against the recovery agent. After investigating, the Lokayukta team found the complaint to be genuine. On Tuesday, they set up a trap and caught Sajid Ahmed red-handed while he was taking the bribe outside the tehsil office.
