Bhusawar, Bharatpur, Rajasthan: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) has uncovered a bribery case at the Punjab National Bank (PNB) branch in Bhusawar, located in Bharatpur district of Rajasthan. The bank’s agriculture manager, Bhagwat Prasad Saini, and his relative, Somendra Kumar Saini, were caught red-handed while accepting a bribe of ₹1.50 lakh.
According to Additional Superintendent of Police Amit Singh of the ACB, the bureau received a complaint from a borrower who had applied for a loan under the Prime Minister’s Micro Food Processing Industries Upgradation Scheme at the Bhusawar branch of PNB. The complainant alleged that the agriculture manager was demanding a bribe of ₹1.50 lakh to approve the loan and had been repeatedly harassing him.
After conducting a preliminary inquiry and verifying the complaint, the ACB laid a trap under the supervision of Rajesh Singh, Deputy Inspector General of Police, ACB Range, Bharatpur. As per the plan, the complainant approached the accused. During the operation, the ACB team caught both accused accepting the bribe on the road outside the bank.
The entire bribe amount was recovered from the possession of the accused. Both Bhagwat Prasad Saini and Somendra Kumar Saini were arrested and are currently being questioned by the ACB. Officials said that further legal action is being taken under the Prevention of Corruption Act, and other aspects of the case are also under investigation.
