CBI Arrests Field Officer and Branch Manager of UP Gramin Bank in Bribery Case

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has arrested two officials of UP Gramin Bank’s Baraur Branch in Kanpur Dehat district for allegedly accepting a bribe of ₹7,000. The arrested officials include the bank’s Field Officer and the Branch Manager.

According to CBI, a case was registered on 13 November 2025 after a complaint was filed against the two officials. The complainant reported that the officers demanded an illegal payment of ₹7,000 to approve a Kisan Credit Card (KCC) Tatkal Loan of ₹1,20,000, applied for by the complainant’s brother-in-law.

Acting on the complaint, the CBI formed a trap team on 14 November 2025. During the operation, both officials were caught red-handed while accepting the bribe. CBI stated that the Field Officer and Branch Manager were working together and had conspired to demand and receive the illegal amount.

Both accused officials were arrested on the same day.
