Fire Breaks Out in Punjab National Bank Branch in Gorakhpur

A fire broke out in the Punjab National Bank (PNB) branch located in Gola town of Gorakhpur late Tuesday night, damaging several electronic devices. Fortunately, important documents and cash remained unharmed. The fire, suspected to have been caused by a short circuit, was brought under control by the fire brigade at around 3 am.

Incident Details

The PNB branch is situated at the West intersection of Gola town. The fire started after 11 pm due to a suspected short circuit. Smoke was first noticed by local residents, who promptly informed the police and the fire brigade. The fire brigade arrived at the scene and began efforts to control the blaze, successfully extinguishing it by early morning.

Response from Bank Staff

Upon receiving the news of the fire, bank employee arrived at the branch during the night. Later, at around 5 am, the bank manager also reached the site to assess the damage. The interior of the bank was filled with smoke and remained dark, making the assessment process difficult.

Damages Reported

The bank manager reported that several electronic devices and office equipment were destroyed in the fire. Despite the damages, the bank manager confirmed that all essential documents and cash were safe. A detailed evaluation of the total loss is still underway.

Local Reaction

The incident attracted a large crowd of local residents, who gathered outside the bank upon hearing the news. They inquired about the extent of the damages once the manager arrived. Eyewitnesses confirmed that the fire had also caused damage to the seating area where bank employees work.
