The Ranipur police have filed a case against four individuals, including the branch manager of Punjab National Bank, based on a court order, accusing them of fraud, verbal abuse, and issuing threats. Allegedly, in a conspiracy, a relative colluded with the manager and others to create fraudulent documents for a loan.
The police have initiated an investigation into the matter. According to the police, Amit Kumar, residing in Shyampur Nawabad, submitted a petition to the court, stating that Harish Kumar, a relative from Sandesh Nagar Kankhal, in 2017-18 applied for a loan at the PNB branch in Shivalik Nagar.
Under the guise of a guarantor, he signed some documents related to the property. When the loan wasn’t repaid, instead of seizing the property, the bank initiated the auction of his house. It is alleged that upon gathering information, it was discovered that Harish, to manipulate the situation, obtained his property documents from the bank, even securing an electricity connection.
In September, he verbally abused and threatened the bank manager, claiming that due to their good relations, he had placed a lien on Amit’s property in retaliation for the loan default. Under the court’s order, the police have registered a case against the unknown PNB branch manager, Harish Kumar, Sumit Singh from Nahtaur Bijnor, and Ravi Kumar from Raja Garden Jagjeetpur, initiating an investigation.
