
In a recent incident, thirteen counterfeit notes of two thousand and five hundred rupees were discovered in the currency chest of Punjab National Bank located on MG Road in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. This discovery has led to a case being registered against the bank employees by the Claim Manager of the Reserve Bank of India (RBI). A few days ago, fake currency notes were found in PNB Mainpuri. Apart from PNB, fake currency notes were also found in SBI Agra and SBI Fatehpur.

Investigation and Police Involvement
Nai Ki Mandi Police Station Incharge Inspector Subhash Chandra has stated that the Manager of RBI’s Claim Section, filed a complaint with Police Commissioner J Ravinder Gaud regarding the incident. It was found that during the demonetization period, fake notes were deposited in the currency chests of several banks. In this specific case, the currency chest of Punjab National Bank had been deposited with the RBI in February. Subsequent investigation revealed the presence of thirteen counterfeit notes of two thousand and five hundred rupees.
Legal Actions Taken
To address this issue, the case has been transferred from Rakabganj Police Station to Nai Ki Mandi Police Station for further investigation. Currently, a case has been filed against the unknown employees involved in this incident. The Reserve Bank of India is actively collaborating with the local authorities to ensure a thorough investigation and proper legal proceedings.
