Indian cricketer Mohammed Siraj has been appointed as Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) in Telangana. He joined and reported to the Director General of Police (DGP) on Friday. This appointment fulfills a promise made by Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who had earlier announced that Siraj would be awarded a Group-I government position in recognition of his significant contributions to cricket and his representation of India on the international stage.

Siraj’s new role was confirmed during a formal ceremony, where he officially joined the services as DSP. Hailing from Hyderabad, Siraj has worked his way up through Indian cricket, earning a reputation as one of the country’s top fast bowlers. His appointment as DSP is seen as a testament to his rising influence both on and off the cricket field. The Telangana government’s gesture is viewed as an honor, recognizing Siraj’s contributions not only as a sportsman but also as a role model for young athletes.

He represents the Indian national team and plays for Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Indian Premier League (IPL) as well as for Hyderabad in domestic cricket.
