A case has been registered against a farmer in Hardoi for fraud and causing financial loss to Aryavart Bank, following a complaint by the bank’s branch manager. The accused, Ramswaroop, son of Pancham, had taken a loan of Rs 5 lakh from the bank in 2016 by mortgaging his land. However, the loan amount has now increased to Rs 7,35,523 due to non-repayment.
According to the bank’s branch manager, Ramswaroop had lost the right to sell or mortgage the land after taking the loan. Despite this, he allegedly sold parts of the mortgaged land to two individuals, Sirla and Munni, and also sold a portion of Gata number 391 to another person, Nanhi Devi.
The branch manager reported the incident to the police, stating that the bank has suffered significant financial loss due to the fraudulent actions of Ramswaroop. Based on the complaint, the police have filed a case against the accused under various sections and have begun their investigation.
In addition, the Pali branch of Aryavart Bank is facing a total non-performing asset (NPA) of Rs 19 crore 25 lakh. Branch manager Ravi Awasthi revealed that 867 Kisan Credit Card account holders and 264 Mudra loan account holders have outstanding dues of over Rs 2 lakh each. He mentioned that in the coming days, FIRs will be filed against these defaulters, giving them an opportunity to settle their dues by making payments at the bank.
