In the video, it can be seen that the customer was forcing the branch manager to improve his CIBIL score. The customer misbehaved with the female branch manager, threatened her, snatched and damaged her mobile phone. Not only this, he threatened her and said that he was a mighty man with good liaisons with high-ranking officers and he would teach her a lesson.
This incident is unacceptable. This incident has raised serious questions about women’s safety in the workplace. How will the bank staff work if they get threatened by some elements of society? In the video, it can be clearly seen that the customer kept on shouting at her and even did not have manners of how to speak to a lady.
The matter was immediately reported to the Gandhi Maidan police station. Taking swift action, the police arrested the accused later that night. In her complaint, Verma narrated the sequence of events and emphasized the unprovoked aggression displayed by Ranjit.
Station House Officer (SHO) of Gandhi Maidan police station confirmed that a case has been registered against the accused under relevant sections for assault, criminal intimidation, and property damage. “An investigation is ongoing, and appropriate action will follow,” the SHO said. However, the contractor has been released from police custody as per media reports. Canara Bank has also not yet taken any strict action against the customer. Canara Bank just said on Social Media that action has been taken against the customer.
If these incidents are not stopped, then it may impact the banking industry negatively and demoralise the hard-working employees. This incident has brought attention to the growing issues faced by bank employees in dealing with customer grievances, especially in situations involving financial stress. Bank officials have expressed concerns about their safety, urging authorities to implement stricter security measures to prevent such occurrences in the future. A few days back, a Customer Assaulted Union Bank Staff Over TDS Issue in Ahmedabad Gujarat.
The banking community and local authorities have condemned the incident, calling for swift justice to ensure that such acts of aggression are met with strict consequences. Now AIBEA has written a letter to IBA to improve security of Bank Employees.

Now a days we criticise Bangladeshi Muslims for genocide of Hindus, but once we must look at this shameful incident also that gundaism particular in Banks where a young lady officer is being assaulted by ‘Gunda’ and her mobile is carried by ‘Gunda’ forcefully. When our working women in Banks are not safe, can we imagine that this type of shameful videos will prepare mentally to join the Bank service.
Therefore, since last one decade if we analysis the permanency of new generation in Banks is 40-50%. Because all youth having excellent IQ or IITan give first priority to UPSC or any other Administrative Deptt.
I request to all Trade unions, AIBOC that raise loud and strong voices against gundaism and demand to the Fin. Ministry to put the Bill related to provision of punishment for such gundas.
The banking community and local authorities have condemned the incident, calling for swift justice to ensure that such acts of aggression are met with strict consequences.
This person need a good lesson, may be some chapters his missed in his etiquette book.
Indian Banks staff it’s management it’s so called union all are spineless they are used to this type of abuse and manhandling by management on daily basis so what this customer has done is nothing new.
Why most such incidents keep happening in northern states? Previously FM Nirmala Sitaraman had instructed the law enforcement authorities to act tough against the perpetrators of violence but people just don’t care. Hope government will come up with harsher laws to deal with such cases.
Bihar is well known for goondaism, vandalism, rowdyism and all such immoral, illogical, illegitimate, unlawful, unfairness, hooliganism. Yatha Raja Thatha Praja. I have worked in Patna during 1980s
in Syndicate bank branch. Very few, only very few customers are law-abiding, respect and follow rules, regulations, procedures and laws of banking. This incident shows today’s prevailing pathetic, helpless working conditions in a nationalised bank. Added is absence of sufficient security guards as in SBI. Even local police donot care for bank employees sufferings at the hands of the unreasonable audacious unruly customers.
Any one can mark the borrower/ customer is going on shouting only one staff just attempted to tell or to stop. What about the other staff present in the branch ? Are they enjoying the event ? When that person raised hands means manhandled the lady manager all are silently enjoying the event.
First staff should be activated
