A 30-year-old bank manager died in a road accident in Orai on Monday after a truck hit his motorcycle at Govindam intersection. The truck dragged the motorcycle for around 50 metres. The incident has left his family devastated, as he was scheduled to get married in two months.
The deceased, Ayush Gupta, was the son of Sandeep Renja and a resident of the area near Moni Mandir. He was working as a branch manager at UP Gramin Bank’s Madaripur branch in the Kuthaund region. On Monday, he had visited the Sankat Mochan Temple. While returning home, he was crossing the highway at Govindam intersection when a truck coming from the Jhansi side hit his motorcycle. Ayush suffered critical injuries in the accident.
Police rushed him to the medical college for treatment. However, considering his serious condition, doctors referred him to a hospital in Jhansi. He died from his injuries while his family members were taking him to Jhansi for further treatment. The truck driver fled the scene after the accident.
The news of Ayush’s death plunged his family into grief. His mother, Archana Gupta, was inconsolable when she saw her son’s body. She later lost consciousness due to the shock. The family had been preparing for his wedding, which was scheduled to take place in two months, but the celebrations have now turned into mourning.
Kotwali Station House Officer Anand Singh said that the truck involved in the accident had been seized. Police are searching for the absconding driver, and further legal action will be taken against him.
