HDFC Bank manager brutally assaulted in Pratapgarh Uttar Pradesh

Three unidentified youths riding bikes attacked the assistant manager of HDFC Bank with iron rod near the intersection of Diwanganj Market in the Kandhai police station area of Pratapgarh on Thursday night. Bank employee Rohit Gupta, aged 28 years, was seriously injured in the attack.
The incident caused chaos in the market. As shopkeepers ran to the scene, the accused fled on their bikes. Police arrived on the scene, sent the injured to the hospital for treatment, and have launched an investigation.

Rohit Gupta, a resident of Katra Mediniganj in the Kotwali City area, works as assistant manager at HDFC Bank in the Patti town area. It was reported that around 8 p.m. on Thursday night, he was returning home in his car after completing bank work. As he approached the intersection of Dewanganj market, three unidentified youths riding an Apache bike stopped his car.


It is alleged that the youths then attacked Rohit Gupta with an iron punch, seriously injuring him. The sudden incident caused panic at the intersection. Shopkeepers heard the commotion and rushed to the scene, but the attackers fled on their bikes.
As soon as the information about the incident was received, Diwanganj outpost police reached the spot and sent the injured bank employee to the hospital for treatment.
The matter is under investigation. The identity of the attackers and the motive behind the incident are currently unclear
