ATM Tampered at Punjab National Bank in Sri Ganganagar

Sri Ganganagar: An incident of attempted tampering with an ATM belonging to Punjab National Bank, located in the Dhanmandi area of the city, has been reported. Approximately five days ago, an unknown individual tried to withdraw money by uprooting the shutter of the ATM. As a result, the ATM ceased to function. The bank manager, noticing the absence of any transactions from the ATM for four consecutive days, decided to investigate the matter. Upon inspection, it was discovered that the ATM had indeed been tampered with. Consequently, a case was registered against an unidentified person at the Kotwali police station. According to information obtained from the Kotwali police station, Rajendra Bilandi, the manager of the Dhanmondi branch of Punjab National Bank, registered the case. It was reported that on May 5, an unknown person attempted to steal money by breaking the shutter of the ATM. However, the perpetrator failed in their attempt, and no money was stolen from the ATM.

Following the incident on May 5, no transactions were recorded from the affected ATM. Upon realizing the absence of any activity until May 9, the bank initiated an investigation, confirming the tampering. Subsequently, a case was officially registered on May 9. The police have now commenced their investigation into the matter.
