Amroha, Uttar Pradesh: Four people, including the branch manager and a field officer of Punjab National Bank (PNB), have been booked for allegedly sanctioning a home loan of Rs 10 lakh in a villager’s name using fake documents. The incident took place in Gajraula in Amroha district, Uttar Pradesh. The alleged fraud came to light when the villager received a notice from the bank regarding the loan. Police have registered a case against all four accused and started an investigation.

According to the complaint filed by Harvendra Singh, a resident of Sultanpur Maulvi village, two men, Pradeep Kumar and Arun Agarwal, both residents of Khaikheda, had offered to help him obtain a loan from PNB. He denied and refused to take loan from PNB. He alleges that the two men asked him to sign some documents and then sent him home, claiming that no loan had been processed.

The complaint alleges that Pradeep Kumar and Arun Agarwal later colluded with Midid Parashar, the manager of PNB’s Chopla branch, and Rajkumari, a field officer, to prepare a fake ITR and secure a home loan of Rs 10 lakh in Harvendra’s name without his knowledge.

Harvendra came to know about the loan after receiving a notice from PNB. When he questioned the accused about the matter, they allegedly threatened him and asked him to deposit the loan amount. He also submitted a written complaint to the branch manager, but claimed that no action was taken on his complaint.
