Bank Customers have filed a complaint against Indian Bank Manager in Sonbhadra, Uttar Pradesh.
They complained that the manager of the Indian Bank’s Purana branch in the Ghorawal area has been demanding a 20 percent commission on agricultural equipment loans. Complaint of harassment and misbehaviour with Bank customers has also been filed.
Two separate complaints have been filed with the District Magistrate, urging to investigate the matter and take action.
Sandeep Kumar, a resident of Semwar, submitted a complaint to the Chief Minister stating that he had applied for a loan at the Purana branch for ₹30 lakh under the Agricultural Mechanization Scheme.
He alleged that after completing the paperwork, he was made to wait for approximately 22 days, and the branch manager later demanded a 20 percent commission for sanctioning loan.
The complainant also accused the branch manager of abusing and threatening him. Five women, including Farzana Begum and Salma Begum, residents of Phulwari, have also filed a complaint with the District Magistrate.
They allege that they are made to sit for hours for bank-related work, and if they protest, they are abused and humiliated. The women also allege that benefits of government schemes are not provided without commission. Both complainants have demanded an investigation into the matter and action against those found guilty.
Till now, neither Indian Bank nor Alman Ahmed, manager of the Indian Bank’s Purana branch, has released any statement.
