UFBU Dharna at Jantar Mantar Cancelled as Police Denied Permission
The UFBU had announced dharna at Jantar Mantar in New Delhi on September 18, 2026 but the dharna has been cancelled as Police has denied permission.
The protest was scheduled to take place from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM. The organisation received communication from the Delhi Police stating that Jantar Mantar will remain closed for such programmes for an indefinite period.
In view of the information received from the Delhi Police, the planned dharna could not be held at Jantar Mantar on September 18.
Five-Day Banking Demand
The proposed dharna was planned to raise the demand for implementation of five-day banking, along with other issues concerning banking employees.
UFBU leaders said that the next course of action, including the possibility of an alternative programme or venue, will be communicated after discussions with the concerned authorities and organisational leadership.
